Fall Creek Light

$2,000.00

oil on canvas, framed
36”x 48”

Light reflects off the water of Fall Creek as it runs down the mountain. This beautiful spot is located in the Fall Creek section of Henry Cowell State Park in Felton, CA. Normally a deep dark forest of tall Redwood trees blocks most of the light, however on this day it was reflecting the beautiful blue sky as a nearby tree had recently fallen over.

This  painting has been exhibited at the Santa Cruz County Building, Santa Cruz Parks and Rec Department and the Grants Pass Museum of Art.

Fall Creek Light Painting

Light reflects off the water of Fall Creek as it runs down the mountain. This beautiful spot is located in the Fall Creek section of Henry Cowell State Park in Felton, CA. Normally a deep dark forest of tall Redwood trees blocks most of the light, however on this day it was reflecting the beautiful blue sky as a nearby tree had recently fallen over.

Fall Creek runs down the mountain from Bonny Doon to Felton. A beautiful redwood forest surrounds the creek. It is a year round creek and provides lots of habitat for local woodland creatures. Fall Creek is an easy hike and one that is hiked by locals on a daily basis. The woodland path twists and turns as the creek does. The tall redwood trees stretch to the sky and the creek is almost always in the shade.

Here in this painting of Fall Creek we are able to see the light dance off the water. A nearby tree had be undermined by the creek and had just fallen over, allowing the light to reach all the way down to the creek.

Frame has small amount damage on lower left corner.
