Post-Fire Roadside Clearing Hwy 199 – Slater Fire

Post-Fire Roadside Clearing on Highway 199

Slater Fire

Acrylic on Canvas

24″ x 18″

The Slater Fire crossed over Highway 199 at the Oregon-California border. Lots of burnt trees stood for a bit, providing habitat for creatures such as the woodpecker. Then “salvage logging” happened to clear back the trees so they didn’t endanger the road. Can a falling tree fall a half mile? I doubt it.
