Acrylic, Encaustic, and Wildfire Charcoal

Inspired by a photo from a wildland firefighter.

This panel builds up from the bright acrylics underneath, to the encaustic layer, and the wildfire charcoal. I wanted to include the heat of the encaustic (hot wax) and the charcoal from an Oregon wildfire to represent the physicality of the scene.

Included in the Rogue Valley Biennial.
